What Barry says
In a 1988 radio interview Barry calls Tina Pratt a great dancer and says she was one of the teachers at his Jazz Cultural Theater, where Jimmy Slyde and Lon Chaney also danced. Talking to Ted Panken in 1999, he says the club had tap and shake dancers and seems to have started tap dancing up again.

He names her while regretting that the club’s tap dancing never got off the ground and that jazz has been cut off from dancing, which it always went with. His answer is to put dancers on his big concerts to show that people dance to jazz.
On WKCR in 1999, describing the big concert he gives every year (the next one due at Symphony Space), with some 200 children singing jazz, an adult chorus, a big band and strings, Barry says he features tap dancers such as Tina Pratt and David Gilmore.
In his own words
One of the ladies who’s the great dancer is Tina Pratt... She was one of my teachers down at Jazz Cultural Theater.
Generally on my concerts I have about 200 little children who sing jazz... I have tap dancers, like Tina Pratt and David Gilmore.
