A Time for Love

Barry played Johnny Mandel’s A Time for Love in concerts from 1995 to 2017, but we found no class in which he teaches through it. On Marian McPartland’s Piano Jazz in 2002, just after playing it, he said he had only started playing it in roughly the last ten years.

In his own words

Well, I guess it’s not all that new... That’s one that I just learned really in a way, maybe in the last 10 years or something like that, started playing it, you know.

I sneaked in a song, A Time for Love. That’s right, I didn’t plan on that one.

There’s one called A Time for Love and then there’s one called I’ll Keep Loving You and I think I’ll play maybe a little bit of one, a little bit of the other.
